The Conservation Corps of Newfoundland and Labrador​ annually sponsors summer Green Teams and Interns, generally post-secondary and high school students, to work within communities on environmental projects. Such teams have been placed in communities with Stewardship Agreements.

Deadline: Late January-February 


Potential Projects:

  • Construct and install Waterfowl nest boxes and platforms 

  • Monitoring nest box sites

  • Train community member in wildlife monitoring 

  • Design educational programs

  • Trail maintenance or clean up

  • Planting trees or gardens

  • Water quality testing

ECHO Program

​

In 2016, CCNL introduced ECHO (Environmental and Cultural Hiring Opportunity). Apply to this program to hire one post-secondary student for 8, 12 or 15 weeks in the summer.


CCNL Internship Program 

​

Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador's Internship Program provides non-profit organizations, community groups and municipalities an opportunity to host an intern on a project focusing on environmental or cultural heritage conservation.

​

Internships allows for meaningful, paid employment opportunities for recent graduates, while supporting important cultural and environmental initiatives in communities throughout the province.

Youth Engagement Funding Initiative (YEFI)

​

The Youth Engagement Funding Initiative (YEFI) is a funding opportunity offered by the Climate Change Education Centre that supports youth-based projects relating to climate change.  Providing up to $1000 in support to youth of Newfoundland and Labrador, monies may be used to enhance existing initiatives, or may be applied to the development of a new project.
